            Consent

            Consent is to give permission, in whole or in part, for something to happen, as part of an agreement to do something, or to receive a provided offer or service. It can be the answer to a request for permission and a confirmation of acceptance. For example, individuals may grant consent to allow their personal data or PII to be collected and used by a business.

            (EU) Any freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous indication of the data subject's wishes by which he or she, by a statement or by a clear affirmative action, signifies agreement to the processing of personal data relating to him or her

            Implied consent – consent presented via action or absence of action which indicates for an organization to collect, use, or disclose for purposes that would be considered obvious at the time. (see Opt-Out Consent)

            Affirmative consent - consent clearly presented with an option to agree or disagree with the collection, use, or disclosure of personal information. (see Opt-In Consent)

            Explicit consent – consent clearly presented with an option to agree or disagree with the collection, use, or disclosure of personal information and confirm consent with an authorization mechanism, such as signature.
